Mayor Randy Garrison, Hartselle, League President

Randy Garrison, mayor of Hartselle, was elected to serve as the Alabama League of Municipalities’ president for 2023-2024 at the annual convention on May 12, 2023. President Garrison was first elected mayor of Hartselle in 2016 and was reelected in 2020.

President Garrison is a lifelong resident of Hartselle and previously worked as the publisher for the Hartselle Enquirer for 14 years. He is a graduate of Athens State University and Morgan County High School, which is now Hartselle High School (Class of 1980). 

President Garrison recently represented the fifth congressional district on the League’s Board of Directors, and by virtue of being president, he remains on the board. Furthermore, he has been a board member of the Alabama Mutual Insurance Corporation (AMIC) since 2020, and he previously served as vice chair of the League’s Committee on Community and Economic Development (CED).

He is also very active in the community and has held the following positions: member and secretary of the Hartselle Kiwanis Club, member of the Hartselle Rotary Club, board member of the Hartselle Alumni Association, board member of the Hartselle Educator Hall of Fame, former board member of the Hartselle Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Decatur Morgan County Community Free Clinic, former board member of Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County, board chair of the Decatur Metropolitan Planning Organization, member and former board chair of the North Alabama Regional Council of Governments.

President Garrison has been married to Lynn Brown Garrison for 37 years. They have two sons, two granddaughters and one grandson. They are active members of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle.
