Mayor Leigh Dollar, Guntersville
A CPA by profession, Mayor Leigh Dollar is a University of Alabama alumnus who returned to her hometown of Guntersville to begin her career and family after graduating with her degree in accounting. She became Guntersville’s first female mayor in 2012 – a longtime dream to follow in her father’s footsteps who served as Guntersville’s mayor when she was born.
Mayor Dollar was elected as the League’s Vice President in 2019 and assumed the role of League President on June 1st when Mayor Ronnie Marks resigned the position due to the postponement of the League’s annual convention originally scheduled for May. Mayor Dollar also serves on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Municipal Insurance Corporation (AMIC) and has completed the League’s Basic and Advanced Certified Municipal Official programs. She is currently working on her CMO Emeritus designation.
